It got me with Ellie when she was very small and I was, at my wits end with her colic, reciting "Twas the night before Christmas". Miraculously, she stopped crying, and miraculously I saw all the years, like a ribbon as you say, roll out ahead of us, and realized that the now of little baby crying was not really that long.<br /><br />Ellie came with us on a recent jaunt to Portugal, and it was wonderful to watch her, as the plane came in to land, put her walkman away carefully into her backpack, make her seat upright, and otherwise prepare for landing--a five year old copy of the adults around her.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-350205096364194669.post-69201849004202891062009-09-17T01:18:29.984+00:002009-09-17T01:18:29.984+00:00Wow!
